A Summertime Community Scavenger Hunt

This summer, families across Clallam County will search for Dolly Parton's life-size cutout at participating local businesses while simultaneously supporting literacy and celebrating community connection! Find Dolly is a fun, family-friendly activity that uplifts local businesses and raises awareness for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

How It Works

Dolly's life-size figure will appear at a different Clallam County business each week.

  1. Find Dolly inside the location and take a photo with her.*
  2. Post your photo to social media and tag @unitedwayclallam
  3. Each week, one lucky participant will win a randomly drawn prize donated by a local business!
  4. Stay tuned because location sponsors may choose to run a sale, raffle, or other promotion during their Dolly Week.

*Feeling camera shy? You can submit a photo of Dolly by herself or email one to community@unitedwayclallam.org instead of posting publicly.

Weekly Prize Drawing

Throughout the tour, we will randomly select a winner from that week's participants to receive a prize donated by a local business. We will contact each winner the same way they submitted their photo, whether through Facebook or email, so watch for a message from United Way this summer!

Support Literacy in Clallam County

Donate to United Way

Every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive. At United Way, we help children get off to a good start and empower youth to reach their full potential by breaking down barriers to success. United Way of Clallam County supports a variety of programs focused around education, from receiving a high school diploma, to finding money for college, to easing our community's childcare crisis by helping early childhood educators finish their degrees and enter the workforce. Our comprehensive approach to youth opportunity means when you team up with us, your generosity has greater impact. Donate today!

Donate to the Imagination Library

The Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting free books to children from birth to age five. Inspired by her father’s inability to read and write, Dolly Parton started the Imagination Library in 1995 to serve the children of her hometown in Sevier County, Tennessee. Today, her program spans five countries and gifts over 3 million free, high-quality, age-appropriate books each month to children around the world. There is never a charge to families who participate in the program and it is open to all children under the age of five in Clallam County.
