United Way is working to help every person in every community get on a path toward financial security. That starts with access to education and training opportunities to prepare people for good-paying jobs with the potential to grow into long-term, sustainable careers.

United Way of Clallam County is pleased to offer a new funding source for individuals looking to gain skills that lead to living wage jobs. 

This initiative is thanks to a partnership with Olympic View Community Foundation and the Peninsula Home Fund.

This scholarship is for individuals who have not completed any degree or long-term certificate programs. Funds may be used for any short-term education program that will lead to hirable skills. This includes Job Training & Professional Development classes offered through Community Education at Peninsula College such as Flagger Certification, Excel Classes, and HR Generalist Certificate. Other programs that provide reputable job training will also be considered, like NW Lineman School. If you have questions about if a specific program is eligible for this scholarship, please email collegeaccess@unitedwayclallam.org

The maximum award for this scholarship is $1,000 for Commercial Drivers License programs and $500 for all other programs.

The application for this scholarship is currently open and will remain open until all funds are awarded.

4. Please identify/describe the program that you would like to use funds for. Provide a link if possible.
5. In 250 words or less, please explain how this education program will increase the likelihood that you can access a living wage job.
6. Are you currently utilizing other community support (Olympic Connect, WorkSource, Serenity House Ect.) If yes, which resources?
If awarded a scholarship, are you willing to provide us with an update on how the funds were used?
